Business Education

Digital Information Technology (High School Credit: 1)

Digital Information Technology includes the exploration and use of: databases, the internet, spreadsheets, presentation applications, management of personal information and email, word processing and document manipulation, HTML, web page design, and the integration of these programs using software that meets industry standards.  The intention of this course is to prepare students to be successful both personally and professionally in an information based society. 

Students taking this course will take Microsoft Office Certification exams.  They will take 3 exams and after successfully passing they will receive the distinction of Microsoft Office Specialist as well as college credit.


Microsoft Imagine Academy

Information and Communication Technology 1 (6th grade)

This course introduces students to core concepts associated with computers and their use.  The content includes hands-on opportunities to explore various software applications and computer concepts.

-Students learn about:

  • Staying safe online
  • Create graphic novels
  • Network topologies
  • Conducting web searches


Student Made Computers

Information and Communication Technology 2 (7th grade)

This course builds on the previous course and provides greater depth and more complex concepts and the skills/knowledge to master these concepts.  Students will be provided opportunities to extend their skills with various software applications by creating more complex documents and using more complex functions.  Students will also be exposed to structured programming and the creation of a more complex computer program.

Students learn about:

  • Online safety
  • Spreadsheet & database software
  • Video and audio software

Information and Communication Technology 3 (8th grade)

This course builds on the previous two courses and provides greater depth and more complex concepts and the skills/knowledge to master these concepts.  In addition to working with network concepts, students will be provided opportunities to further extend their skills with various software applications by creating more complex documents and using more complex functions and technologies.  Students will continue their exposure to computer programming and the creation of more complex computer programs. 

  • Students take the Internet Business Associate Certification exam
  • Students learn about:
    • Project Management
    • Internet associated careers
    • Website creating
    • Coding
    • Game development
