About Us

Liberty Middle School was originally built in 1976 as a Junior High School serving the Southeast Orlando community. The school, originally built to house some 800 students, now accommodates more than 1,100. As a result of growth, the school has undergone several extensive renovations including a $13,000,000 million dollar project that was started in 2005 and was completed in 2007. The project included such upgrades as redesigned classrooms, multiple computer stations in each classroom, a new main office, and a new wing that houses the fine arts department and a new media center. During the 2016-2017 school year, our facilities were again upgraded through capital improvements.

Liberty Middle School serves approximately 1,200 students who represent differing ethnic, racial and cultural backgrounds. Approximately 63% of the student population is Hispanic, 23% are White/Caucasian, 9% are Black and the remaining 5% is comprised of Asian/Pacific Islanders and other groups. The ratio between boys and girls is 50/50.
