Liberty Middle School Band

experience starts with Beginning Band and progresses to Intermediate and Advanced Bands; with a select group participating in the Jazz Band and conducted by Ms. Tabone.

Beginning Band is a five day a week class that meets all year. The student learns the fundamentals of reading music and learning to play a wide range of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.

Intermediate Band is a five day a week class that meets all year and continues the student's development. This class is comprised of 7th and 8th grade students who have been playing at least one year.

Advanced Band is a five day a week class that meets all year. The advanced band is mostly 8th grade students that have been playing at least two years, with select 7th grade students eligible upon approval of the director.

Jazz Band is a five day a week class that meets all year. The students explore the original American art form of Jazz and also are exposed to Latin and Rock styles of music. This group is selected by the director based on the student's musicianship and the instrumentation needs of the group. Traditional jazz instruments include Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophones and the rhythm section instruments of Piano, Bass, Guitar and Drums.
